Why Arrive at Gjipe Beach by Boat?

Because there is no paved road leading down to the beach, it has remained remarkably preserved. Land visitors must park their vehicles high up on the coastal highway and hike down a rough, rocky path for about 30 minutes in the hot sun. This makes a boat tour from Dhërmi the most popular, comfortable, and scenic option. Approaching from the sea offers a dramatic, cinematic view of the red canyon opening up to reveal a crescent of white pebbles and glowing blue water.

Exploring the Canyon Mouth and Caves

The canyon of Gjipe extends for several kilometers inland, offering excellent opportunities for hiking, rock climbing, and boulder scrambling. Right at the shore, where the sea meets the rocky cliffs, you will find several small sea caves. When arriving by boat, we stop right outside these caves, allowing you to swim and snorkel in the crystal-clear shallow waters.

Best Times to Visit Gjipe Beach

To experience Gjipe at its wildest and most peaceful, we recommend taking a morning boat tour. By 10:00 AM, the beach is still quiet, the sun sits at a perfect angle to light up the canyon walls, and the sea is calm, making boarding and disembarking easy.

Important Ecological Guidelines

Gjipe is an eco-sanctuary. There is no municipal trash pickup on the beach. If you bring snacks or beverages, you must pack all trash back onto the boat so we can dispose of it responsibly in Dhërmi Beach. Respecting the local wilderness ensures this paradise stays clean for future generations.
